An Overview

This manual mechanical toothbrush is designed to promote sustainability in every aspect of oral care. The brush features a hydrochromic indicator on the stem which promotes water conservation during the brushing process. The toothbrush also comes with a subscription package for replaceable brush heads that are stored in a recyclable cartridge, reducing waste and promoting a circular economy. The optional twisting mechanism can be purchased separately and attaches to the handle using an insert twist and lock mechanism, providing versatility for brushing preferences while minimizing additional waste. The brush handle and cartridge also include QR codes to provide information on sustainable disposal methods and an AR tutorial for an interactive and engaging way to learn about the sustainable features of the brush. EXPERIENCE DESIGN

Experience design is about creating a user-centered design, where the user's needs, wants, and limitations are considered throughout the design process. In this toothbrush design, the user's needs for sustainable oral care, ease of use, and convenience were taken into account in every aspect of the product.

  • Providing an AR tutorial that educates users on the brush's sustainable features in an interactive and engaging way, making it easy for users to learn about and understand the brush's features.
  • It includes QR codes on the brush handle and cartridge that provide information on sustainable disposal methods, making it easy for users to access this information and make informed decisions about responsible disposal.
  • The brush head replacement process is made simple and safe for children, by having the new heads drop into place using gravity and the brush can only be removed from the cartridge when new heads are inserted.
